El principal objetivo de la Federación, es promover una educación de excelente calidad y el crecimiento de la cirugía plástica facial alrededor del mundo. Cada dos años una reunión científica internacional se conduce conjuntamente con uno de los miembros del país de esta Efederación. El primer congreso fue en Cancún, México en el año 2000, Nueva York en el 2002, Londres en el 2004 y Las Vegas en el 2006. Todas las reuniones han sido grandes oportunidades de aprendizaje, acompañadas de extraordinarios eventos sociales y culturales. Cartagena no será la excepción. La Sociedad Colombiana de Cirugía plástica Facial y Rinología, así como la IFFPSS y la AAFPRS han estado trabajando arduamente durante estos des años para hacer de esta reunión un éxito. Cartagena no sólo será un lugar para adquirir conocimientos; la belleza y la magia de esta ciudad del Caribe combinad a con la amabilidad del clima y de nuestra gente colombiana harán de esta una experiencia digna de vivir. Además esta será una oportunidad para dar tributo a aquellos cirujanos plásticos faciales que han labrado el camino para las generaciones más jóvenes y para darle la bienvenida a nuestros huéspedes de honor. Es el momento de abrir su mente, dejar volar la imaginación y gozar de la oportunidad de participar en una reunión que le permitirá intercambiar ideas, conocer nuevas personas mientras se divierte y la pasa bien. ¡Bienvenidos a Cartagena!

The International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies- IFFPSS had requested us to realize the 5th International Congress of Facial Plastic Surgery that is going to be held in the city of Cartagena from the 5th-8th of March of 2008. Every two years an International Scientific meeting is conducted, hosting important facial plastic surgeons from all over the world who will be sharing their knowledge and expertise in the most compressive way for all of us. By the time this is the Facial Plastic Surgery most important academical event around the world.
For the Colombian Society of Facial Plastic Surgery and Rhinology it is an honor to have the possibility to held this meeting in the city of Cartagena; a city that has been recognized as an excellent international tourism destiny and also declared as a cultural historic patrimony, that until today stills conserving its colonial architecture. The Cartagena de Indias city which has been declared by the UNESCO as a Cultural and Historical Human Patrimony has the honor to host the 5 international Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Congress,

Cartagena, the most important city because of its history and location, was conquered by Pedro de Heredia in 1533. Since that date it was also declared the most important fortress of the Colonial America. High stone walls and military buildings were seted in places around the city to
protect it from the constant threatings of the pirates, corsaries and buchaniars. Today the heart of the city the “ciudad amurallada” give us a beautiful sample of the colonial architecture with big houses, parks, squares and military and religious monuments.

Cartagena is located in the Caribbean Coast of Colombia, and has a permanent sunny weather with an average degree of 86fh, shores with an enchanting warm water and the most exotic islands nearby. It also counts with a big hotel infrastructure and huge top quality restaurant offering international and native meals. The international Airport has multiple international arrivals which gives you a big bunch of alternatives for your arrival.
